RIVERSIDE SHERIFFS’ ASSOCIATION HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Evan-Petersen

Riverside Sheriffs’ Association President Bill Young announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed a new executive director, Captain Evan Petersen, to replace retiring executive director Dave Brown.

Captain Petersen has served the Riverside Sheriff’s Office for over 28 years and most recently held command positions at the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station, Ben Clark Training Center, and the Special Investigations Bureau. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Cal State San Bernardino. Captain Petersen plans to retire from the sheriff’s department in June and begin his new role as RSA’s executive director on July 1.

“I am thrilled to be able to continue serving the outstanding men and women of the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association in my new role as RSA Executive Director,” Petersen said upon his appointment. “This is my passion, and I am so thankful for this new opportunity,”.

Petersen will replace outgoing executive director Dave Brown who announced his retirement in early May after 35 years of public service including many years as a police chief and director of public safety. Asked about his time with RSA, Brown stated, “My greatest joy has been working with the amazing team at RSA to serve the members of the Association. I’m confident that the membership will be well-served under the continued leadership of President Bill Young, the Board of Directors, and Executive Director Evan Petersen.”

RSA President Bill Young issued the following statement: “Dave Brown has served the staff and association membership well and we wish him the very best in his retirement. We are extremely excited to have Evan Peterson join the RSA team as executive director and look forward to continuing our efforts to increase and improve the services we provide to our membership.”
